Gopal Narayan Singh University, Jamuhar (Rohtas), Established in 2018, is one of the leading private universities in Bihar, India. About Our Trust

 

Deo Mangal Memorial Trust was established in 17 Day Of May 2000, In memory of Late Deo Narayan Singh and Mangla Devi who are parents of Sri Gopal Narayan Singh, Chairman of the trust with the sole aim of welfare of the society at large by establishing educational institution and providing relief to the masses in and around rural area of district Rohtas in Bihar. Keeping that in view the Trust started a hospital in the name of Narayan Chikitsalaya at jamuhar, Rohtas (Bihar). In the year 2006, it was decided to upgrade the hospital to a Medical College. In the year 2008 trust got approval a Medical College by Medical Council of India (MCI) with the name of Narayan Medical College and Hospital for 100 student capacity. Further Trust decided to open a Nursing College so that more technical knowledge can be imparted to the masses and thereby increasing the job opportunities. In the Year 2012 Trust got the permission for Narayan Nursing College by Indian Nursing Council for 100 student intakes for GNM course which in only in few college have 100 seat permission by Nursing Council of India.Further, the Trust open Pharmacy Institute with permission to the Pharmacy Council of India to support Medical Education. Later on, Paramedical, Management, Agriculture, Information Technology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Library and Information Science started the run successfully.Inspired by faith in our core mission and values, and dedicated to the ongoing legacy of our founders, Gopal Narayan Singh University sets the standard for an engaged, contemporary and nurturing institution that fosters the transformative power of advanced learning.             The journey started in 2003, with the establishment of Deo Mangal Memorial Trust by its founder Sri Gopal Narayan Singh as Chairman of Trust in memory of his parents: Deo Narayan Singh ji and Mangla Devi ji. In the same year, the trust established a small hospital with OPD facilities.  In the year, 2008, the Hospital was converted into a medical college and Hospital namely “Narayan Medical College & Hospital, Jamuhar, Sasaram. In the same year Medical Council of India (MCI) issued letter of permission and first batch of MBBS students were admitted with 100 seats. Afterwards, the journey continued and it never looked back. In 2014 the first batch of students passed out and the college was recognized by Medical Council of India.  In the same year MCI permitted for admission in PG courses in basic as well as medical subjects. In 2016 & 2018, Postgraduate admission was granted by MCI in all the medical subjects with 70 seats. In 2018, number of seats in MBBS was increased by MCI from 100 to 150. The same year, 2018 was a milestone in the history of this university, when, Gopal Narayan Singh University was established under Bihar Private University Act. 2013. Further, it rose to the national arena when the University Grants Commission (UGC) approved the University in March 2019.

In 2019 – DNB course was started in Urology after permission from NBE Board, New Delhi. In 2022, we proposed for DNB course in cardiology, Nephrology and Neuro-Surgery. In 2012, Narayan Nursing College was established by the trust after due approval of Nursing Council of India and GNM as well as B.Sc. Nursing courses were initiated. Further in 2020 M.Sc. Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Courses have also been started after permission by Indian Nursing Council. In 2022, permission was granted for Ph.D. Programme. In 2017, Narayan Institute of Pharmacy was established initially with D. Pharma and B. Pharma courses after permission by Pharmacy Council of India and AICTE.  In 2022, M. Pharma Courses were permitted by PCI in four subjects including Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy. In addition to this permission was also granted by PCI for admission on 30 seats in Pharm D.  and 10 seats in Pharm D (PB) course. In, 2016, Narayan Academy of Managerial Excellence was started after with due permission from AICTE with MBA, BMS course. Further in 2020, BBARM was also started in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi University of Rural Management, Hyderabad. In 2021, Ph.D. Programme has also been initiated. In 2018, Narayan School of Law was established with LLB, BA-LLB and BBA-LLB course after due permission from Bar Council of India. In 2020, LLM course was also initiated and in 2021 – Ph.D. Programme was started in Law.  The journey continued with establishment of Faculty of Information Technology in 2019 with BCA, M Sc, and B. Tech courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology and Engineering, Electronics & Computer Science Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering. Further in this endeavor, during 2019, Narayan Institute of Agricultural Sciences was started by admitting students in B. Sc (Hons.) in Agriculture and Horticulture and Bachelor of Fishery Sciences. Further, in 2020, M. Sc. Programme was initiated in four disciplines i.e. Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant pathology and Genetics & Plant Breeding. During the same year courses like B. Com M.Com, MJ&MC, BJ&MC, B.Lib. M.Lib have also been initiated.
