Programme Overview

The B.Sc. in Perfusion Technology is a specialized undergraduate programme that focuses on training professionals in the operation and management of cardiopulmonary bypass systems and advanced life-support technologies used during cardiac and critical care procedures.

The programme at GNSU provides comprehensive theoretical knowledge supported by practical training in cardiac operation theatres and intensive care units, enabling students to develop proficiency in modern perfusion practices and patient safety protocols.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Perfusion Technologists are trained to:

  • Operate heart–lung machines during cardiac surgeries
  • Monitor physiological parameters during cardiopulmonary bypass
  • Assist cardiac surgeons and anesthesiology teams
  • Manage extracorporeal circulation equipment
  • Ensure safety, accuracy, and documentation during procedures

Eligibility Criteria

  • Passed Higher Secondary (10+2) with Science (PCB)
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks
  • Examination recognized by a statutory board or Indian university
