The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Gopal Narayan Singh University (GNSU), in collaboration with the Alumni Cell, successfully organised an Alumni Expert Seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Strategy: From Innovative Idea to Commercialisation” at Deo Mangal Sabhagar.
The programme was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Kumar Alok Pratap, Registrar, GNSU, along with Dr. Vijay Pathania PT and Dr. Satya Prakash Rai, who delivered the opening remarks as event organisers. Dr. Manish Kumar Upadhyay extended the welcome address and introduced the theme, setting an insightful tone for the session.
The seminar featured Mr. Abhishek Kumar, a distinguished GNSU alumnus of the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture programme and a young innovator with one Indian and three UK patents, as the Resource Person. He was felicitated by the Registrar before delivering an engaging and informative session on transforming innovative ideas into protected intellectual property and commercially viable ventures.
Mr. Abhishek Kumar, recipient of the National Innovation Award 2024, the District Millionaire Farmer of India Award, and the Bihar Change Maker Award, shared valuable real-life experiences from his journey of innovation and patenting, which resonated strongly with the students.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer round, followed by the presentation of a memento and certificate of appreciation. Dr. Ranjeet Kumar, IIC Convenor, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, organisers, and participants. Special appreciation was extended to Dr. Monika Singh, President, IIC, GNSU, for her continuous guidance and support in organising the event.
The programme ended with a group photograph and witnessed active participation from faculty members, IIC coordinators, and a large number of students, making it an inspiring and informative experience. The event was smoothly anchored by Ms. Khushi, BA-LLB.
